↑ Saint Anselm goalies Kalyssa Bayne and Emma Brewer – Bayne, a freshman, started Friday's game against Saint Anselm and made 76 saves, which set a program record. Brewer, a sophomore who was making her first career start, tied that record but adding a further 76 saves. Kudos to both goalies who were absolutely pummeled this weekend.
↓ Saint Anselm – The university is moving its NCAA athletics program to Division II, so the women's hockey program is playing it's last season at this level. In response to the news, much of last year's roster entered the transfer portal and moved to other DI teams. That's what creates a situation where their goalies faced more than 150 shots this weekend. Here's hoping the team still has the resources it needs for these goalies to get treatment and recover. It's so early in the season and that's a heck of a burden these two are going to face week in and week out.
↑ Minnesota Duluth's Ève Gascon and Cornell's Annelies Bergmann – Speaking of goalies, each of these two set new program records for shutouts.
↓ My conviction that there would not be many collegians on the Canada World Championship roster – Canada took 48 players to camp and released a 25 person roster from it. I maintain that's too big a camp when you're pulling players from their collegiate season, but at least for five players, the time away paid off. Congratulations to UMD's Ève Gascon and Caitlin Kraemer, Clarkson's Sara Manness, Ohio State's Hayley McDonlad and Wisconsin's Rosalie Tremblay for making the Canada roster for the 2026 IIHF Women's World Championships that start Nov. 6 in Denmark.
↑ Northeastern coach Dave Flint – Congtratulations to Coach Flint on earning his 400th win with the Huskies this weekend.
↓ Connecticut – It has been a weird start to the year for the Huskies who faced three ranked teams to start. They lost two to St. Cloud, but bounced back with a sweep of Clarkson. Two losses to Princeton this past weekend put them at 2-4 and they've dropped to 11th in the USCHO poll.
↑ Ivies – All the Ivy League schools save Yale hit the ice this week and they showed out despite how difficult it is to catch up with everyone else who has been playing so far. They went 10-0 overall and those teams join Colgate as the only undefeated programs left after Minnesota and Ohio State handed each other their first losses.
