↑ Union – Last weekend the Garnet Chargers set a new program record by earning their seventh conference victory of the season. Union also surpassed the program's previous single-season win record of 11, earning their 12th win of the season with a win over Brown this weekend.
↓ Clarkson – No team has struggled more since the winter break than the Golden Knights, who went from fighting for an ECAC title to 14th in the Pairwise in the space of a month. They are 3-7 in the ten games since January 3, including two 2-1 losses, one in overtime, last weekend. That being said, they're going to be a team on a mission in the ECAC Tournament, gunning to win the auto-bid. They survived all kinds of overtime last postseason and may have to do so again this year if they want to get back to the NCAA Tournament or Frozen Four.
↑ Milestones – Yale coach Mark Bolding reached 100 wins on Saturday. Also on Saturday, UMD defender Nina Jobst-Smith tallied her 50th career assists and Colgate's Neena Brick reached 100 career points. With a win over St. Thomas on Friday, Sanni Ahola became the St. Cloud program leader in career goaltender wins with 35.
↓ Consistent officiating – This is a forever problem that will probably never really be solved, but it felt super on display in the Ohio State at Minnesota series last weekend. The officials started off with a "let them play" philosophy, not giving any penalties in the opening frame of the 1st game. Friday's game ended with 10 total penalties. On Saturday, this again started relatively light, but by the end of the game, 21 penalties for a total of 50 minutes were assessed as the game got chippier and chippier to the point players were tripping each other standing around the faceoff circle before the puck dropped. The officials lost control of these games and it is was sad to see such a great top-5 matchup end up that way.
↑ Attendance – Last week, the Women's Beanpot welcomed 13,279 people to TD Garden this year - the largest women's hockey crowd in New England history. Harvard set their own new attendance record on their senior night, welcoming 1,741 fans. Overall, several programs are trending to higher attendance numbers than last season, both in overall attendance and in average attendance.
