↑ Post – The Eagles earned their first shutout and home win over Sacred Heart in program history on Friday, earning just their fourth win on the season. Freshman Rowyn Ringor scored twice, Celena Mickevicius scored a shortie and goalie Hannah Saunders made a career-high 45 saves to lead the team to the win. Post followed that up with a tie and shootout win over the Pioneers the next day. Saunders saved all four shots in the shootout and Noa Farberman scored the only goal, beating the goalie five-hole to give Post the win.

↓ Sacred Heart – Sorry, but this deserves it's own separate entry. The Pioneers gave up their lead atop NEWHA after losing to Post on Friday and settling for a tie on Saturday while LIU took a pair of OT wins over Saint Anselm on Wednesday and Thursday. Those are the sort of games that the number one team in the conference has to win. Sacred Heart has to reset with the winter break and come back with more focus if they're going to earn a conference title.

↑ Milestones – Minnesota's Nelli Laitenen reached 50 career points

↓ Boston College – Similar to Sacred Heart, BC did themselves no favors this week, dropping a game to Holy Cross. The Eagles are now sitting third in Hockey East after HC earned just their third conference win over them this weekend. In fact, the Crusaders won the season series with the win after the two teams had split a weekend series earlier in the season.

↑ Princeton – With their win over Quinnipiac, the Tigers finally got the attention and votes to move into the polls this week.

↓ Winter break – I'm glad the student athletes get a break, but after so much great hockey, it's a little sad we'll go basically a month before teams pick it back up. There are five games this week - one tonight and two series over the weekend. And there will be a few games spread over the weekend of New Year's before a regular schedule returns on January 3rd.

↑ U18 Women's Worlds – As a reminder, I head to Vaanta, Finland at the New Year to cover the 2025 IIHF U-18 Women's World Championship. There will be a pause in regular college coverage - I'll have How to Watch so everyone has the links they need, but likely not much else NCAA at that time. There will be daily recaps of the games and subscribers will have access to the photos and videos from the mixed zone and as much other coverage I can give you while I'm there. I'm using subscription money to pay for this trip, so if you're not already a subscriber, please consider signing up or making a small donation via PayPal - every little bit helps.
