On December 12, the PWHL announced each team's complete 23-player roster for the start of the season, as well as the expansion of each team's reserve roster from two to three players. This meant that the final cuts from the training camp roster were somewhat minimal, as each team can carry a total of 26 players – 23 on the active roster, and 3 in reserve.
There were a handful of waiver moves that saw players join different teams than the ones with whom they spent training camp – all defenders. Sidney Morin was waived by Minnesota and picked up by Boston, who signed her to their active roster. Likewise, Mellissa Channell was waived by Toronto, picked up by Minnesota, and signed to their active roster. And finally, Maude Poulin-Labelle was waived by Montreal and joined Toronto on the active roster.
Defender Emma Buckles, originally signed to a 1-year deal, has been moved to Boston's reserve roster.
Minnesota forward Sydney Brodt is on the long-term injury list and does not count towards their active roster at this time, which explains their 14 forwards under contract.
Terms of the contracts announced on December 12 are not yet fully known, though it is believed that New York forward Jessie Eldridge's 2-year contract was revised to be 3 years at $80k+ due to her strong preseason performance.
Each team is carrying three goaltenders on the active roster, and only Minnesota is carrying a fourth goaltender in a reserve spot (Lauren Bench).
