The PWHL Took Over Seattle!

The PWHL Took Over Seattle! by Liz Popfly, Sam Gray

The first stop of the PWHL's takeover tour happened this weekend in Seattle, and it had all the big game ceremony we were hoping for. We wanted it to feel like the NHL's outdoor games as far as vibes go, and in our opinion it did not disappoint. The teams were tourists in the city, they got involved in the community, the Kraken embraced the women's teams (and vice versa), the outfits were glorious, and we got celebrity (and least in the hockey/women's sports worlds) cameos. A+ all around.

Seattle Kraken players Yanni Gourde, Matty Beniers, Phillipp Grubauer, Joey Daccord, and Shane Wright
Boston Fleet players Jamie Lee Rattray, Megan Keller, Hilary Knight, Kelly Babstock, and Susanna Tapani.

BookTok queen and hockey romance author Lexi LaFleur Brown attended the game with her husband, J.T. Brown (former NHL player and current Kraken TV analyst).

Women's sports icons Sue Bird and Megan Rapinoe.

The Takeover Tour continues Wednesday, January 8 at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia when the Montreal Victoire take on the Toronto Sceptres.
